Pressure on Students
December 7, 2021
A student can never be enough. In America, the land of endless possibilities, we most truly include the possibility of failure. For every good grade received, someone else receives a better grade. For every seemingly large achievement, someone brings forth a larger one. To a high school student, a family dinner is like going to confession, where your sins are your grades. Suddenly, your GPA, your volunteer hours, and your ACT score seem “lower than necessary.” Even in the comfort of your bed, the overwhelming, mind-numbing pressure of the future comes to wake you. A student can never be enough.
