Students walk out for gun control.

National School Walkout

On a sunny afternoon of Apr. 20, a large crowd of students gathered outside the front of Mounds View High School in protest of the several recent school shootings and in advocacy of gun control legislation. With police cars monitoring the outskirts of the parking circle, voluntary speakers walked up to the entrance of the school and delivered emotionally charged, powerful speeches. Later, students sat in the commons for the rest of the day, peacefully protesting and registering to vote.
